Modi's Double Launch: Aviation Repair & Orbital Rocket Take Off

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two significant milestones in India’s aviation and space sectors this week.

Today, PM Modi will launch Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI), a state-of-the-art maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility for LEAP engines, which power Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. With an investment of ₹1,300 crore, the facility is designed to service up to 300 engines annually and create over 1,000 jobs. The PMO described the launch as a major step toward “Aatmanirbharta” in aviation.

On 27 November 2025, the Prime Minister will unveil Skyroot’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, along with the company’s Infinity Campus—a facility capable of producing one rocket per month. Founded by former ISRO scientists, Skyroot exemplifies India’s growing private space capabilities and underscores the nation’s emergence as a global leader in space technology.
