Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh is poised for a major industrial uplift following substantial investment commitments made at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.
Fresh investments totaling ₹6,815 crore are expected to generate around 4,800 new jobs, providing strong momentum to the district’s economic growth. Key proposals include JM Baxi Group’s ₹3,000 crore logistics and port-linked project, IndoSoul’s ₹2,200 crore manufacturing unit, and RCRT’s ₹1,615 crore IT and infrastructure initiative. Local MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy noted that these developments will help overcome years of industrial stagnation caused by previous policies.
“Nearly 16 lakh jobs will be created across the state. These are not just MoUs but concrete investments,” he affirmed. The district is also expecting announcements of new glass manufacturing units in the near future. Overall, Nellore has emerged as a major beneficiary of the ₹13.25 lakh crore worth of investments committed to Andhra Pradesh through 613 MoUs.
