Telangana Announces 1,000-Acre Electronic City under Future City Initiative

The Government of Telangana has announced the development of a 1,000-acre ‘Electronic City (E-City)’ as part of its ambitious ‘Future City’ initiative, aimed at transforming the state into a leading hub for high-tech manufacturing and innovation. The announcement was made by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu during a meeting with executives from Taiwan-based Sera Networks and Hyderabad’s LCGC Resolute Group.

The two companies have formed a joint venture and pledged an investment of ₹300 crore to establish an advanced electronics manufacturing facility in Telangana. Spanning 10 acres, the facility will specialize in the production of telecommunications infrastructure, including 5G equipment, multi-layer networking solutions, and servers. The initiative is expected to create approximately 2,500 skilled jobs.

To support industrial investments, the state government is forming a dedicated task force to streamline processes and eliminate bureaucratic hurdles. Minister Babu also announced special incentives for entrepreneurs setting up operations in tier-II and tier-III cities, as part of Telangana’s inclusive industrial growth strategy. He reaffirmed the state's commitment to building world-class infrastructure customized to meet the unique needs of various industries.

E-City is envisioned as the cornerstone of the Future City project, offering an integrated ecosystem that brings together innovation, manufacturing, and investment. The development is expected to attract both domestic and global companies seeking to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing electronics sector.
