Thane’s New Horizon: A ₹920 Crore Leap into the Clouds

Thane Municipal Corporation has invited bids for the development of a landmark viewing tower project at Mogharpada and Vadavali.

The proposed project, estimated at Rs 920 crore, will be implemented through a developer responsible for the design, development, operation, management, and maintenance of the facility before its eventual transfer to the civic authority. The initiative aims to create a high-quality tourism and recreational destination with enhanced visitor engagement features.

As part of the project scope, the selected developer will be required to incorporate advanced interactive attractions such as digital telescopes, augmented reality (AR)-based guided tours, and educational exhibits designed for visitors across all age groups. The project also places strong emphasis on safety and infrastructure quality, mandating compliance with international structural standards, periodic inspections, and comprehensive emergency evacuation training for operational staff.

In addition, the trunk infrastructure must be developed using durable, low-maintenance materials while ensuring complete accessibility for visitors. The development phase of the project is scheduled to be completed within six months.

The last date for submission of bids is May 28, 2026.
