GAIL (India) is ожидает final approvals from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) to operationalise its 317 km gas pipeline connecting Nagpur to Jabalpur.
An inspection by officials is expected shortly, after which the pipeline will be ready for gas filling and commissioning. GAIL has already completed and operationalised a 693 km pipeline from Mumbai to Nagpur along the Samruddhi Expressway. From Nagpur, the network extends eastward to Jabalpur and further to Jharsuguda in Odisha, covering an additional 692 km, enabling gas supply from both the western and eastern coasts of India.
The Nagpur–Jharsuguda section, initially targeted for completion by March, is now expected to be ready by the end of June. Meanwhile, testing is underway on the 203 km Nagpur–Gondia stretch, including high-pressure hydro testing and ultrasonic inspections to ensure safety and pipeline integrity.
More than 480 km of the Jharsuguda–Rajnandgaon segment in Chhattisgarh is already operational. Once the Nagpur–Gondia section is commissioned, the entire east–west gas pipeline network will become fully functional, with gas sourced from Dhamra port in Odisha.
