The ₹900 Crore Upgrade: Greater Noida’s First Double-Decker Flyover

The Greater Noida Authority has redesigned its proposed Shahberi infrastructure project, replacing a planned four-lane elevated road with the city's first double-decker flyover. The decision follows a feasibility study revealing that the existing corridor width (14 meters) falls short of the 15-meter minimum required for the original four-lane design.

Developed in consultation with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the new double-decker configuration requires a corridor width of only 12 meters. The 2.5-kilometer flyover will feature two distinct levels to manage traffic flow: one deck dedicated to commuters heading toward Crossings Republik, and the other for vehicles traveling toward Greater Noida.

Designed to alleviate severe traffic congestion between the densely populated residential hubs of Greater Noida West and Crossings Republik, the revised project's estimated budget has increased from Rs 400 crore to approximately Rs 900 crore.
