Watertec’s ₹400 Crore Splash: Scaling Up the Sanitaryware Game

Watertec, backed by Warburg Pincus, is preparing for a significant expansion of its chrome plated (CP) fittings and sanitaryware segment, with a target of generating ₹400 crore in revenue from the vertical over the next five years.

The company expects the CP and sanitaryware business to grow at an annual rate of 20–25%, supported by increasing demand in India’s housing and renovation markets.

Mayank Sharma, Head of the CP & Sanitaryware Business Unit at Watertec, said the company plans to make a disproportionate investment to scale up the segment, though he did not disclose the proposed capital outlay.

At present, CP and sanitaryware contribute around 10% to the Coimbatore-based company’s overall revenue. Watertec’s wider portfolio includes polymer bath fittings, which account for nearly 70% of its topline, and pipes, which make up the remaining 20%.

In FY26, the company reported revenues of about ₹500 crore, highlighting its strategy to rebalance the portfolio by accelerating growth in higher-value product categories.
