Shivalaya Construction Bags ₹211 Cr Bihar Irrigation Deal

The Water Resources Department, Bihar has declared Shivalaya Construction as the lowest bidder (L1) for the modernisation of the Western Main Canal under the Bihar Water Security and Irrigation Modernisation Project (BWSIMP).

The project scope includes upgrading the canal stretch from 7.100 km to 18.700 km and extending an additional 2.700 km up to the Jainagra Lock of the Western Main Canal within the Sone Canal System. Shivalaya Construction secured the contract with a bid of ₹211.29 crore.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening irrigation infrastructure, improving water-use efficiency, and enhancing agricultural productivity in the region. It forms a key component of Bihar’s broader strategy to modernise its canal network and ensure more effective and reliable water distribution for farming and long-term water security.
