Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has outlined plans to invest ₹7,188.9 crore over the next five years to expand its mining operations and strengthen its production capacity.
As part of this strategy, the company has also launched its IT Vision Document for 2026–2030, aimed at transforming HCL into a digitally integrated and future-ready enterprise. The roadmap focuses on adopting advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency, safety, and governance across its mining and processing units.
Key initiatives include the deployment of hybrid underground communication systems to enable real-time connectivity in mines, upgrading network infrastructure through multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), and implementing high-speed leased internet connections across all locations.
A major component of the plan is the creation of a unified digital ecosystem supported by an integrated command and control centre. This will enhance monitoring, coordination, and decision-making across operations.
The company expects these digital upgrades to boost productivity, improve worker safety through better surveillance and response systems, and deliver measurable returns by streamlining operations and reducing risks.
