Petronet LNG Awards Major Turnkey Contract to L&T

Larsen & Toubro’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business (L&T Onshore) has secured a major order from Petronet LNG, a joint venture of leading public sector undertakings ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), GAIL, and BPCL.

The contract pertains to the construction of storage facilities at the Dahej Petrochemical Complex in Gujarat. L&T will execute the project on a lump-sum turnkey basis, covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

The scope of work includes the installation of a double-wall liquefied natural gas (LNG) and ethane storage tank with a capacity of 1,70,000 cubic metres, along with a double-wall propane storage tank of 1,40,000 cubic metres capacity. The project also involves the development of handling and dispatch facilities for ethane and propane to support an upcoming propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene plant.

The project supports the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative by strengthening domestic petrochemical manufacturing capabilities.
