Oil India Limited (OIL) has reached a key milestone in its energy diversification journey!
On October 15, 2026, OIL signed a Revenue Sharing Contract (RSC) for the Special CBM Block SR-ONHP-(CBM)-2026/1. Spanning 272.14 sq. km in the Singrauli Coalfield region, this project marks OIL’s strategic return to Coal Bed Methane (CBM) exploration.
The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, PNG Secretary Dr. Neeraj Mittal, and represented by OIL Director (Operations) Shri Trailukya Borgohain. Unlocking unconventional natural gas reserves like CBM remains central to powering India's sustainable energy future.
