Hyderabad Rises: $1,000 Cr Osmania Hospital Project Kicks Off

In a significant step towards modernising public healthcare in Hyderabad, construction has commenced on the new Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal Stadium. The project, undertaken by Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), involves an investment of Rs 1,000 crore and promises to deliver one of the largest and most advanced public hospitals in the region.

Marking the start of the project on Dasara, traditional rituals were performed by K Govardhan Reddy, MEIL’s President of Projects. The hospital will be developed across 26 acres, with a built-up area of 32 lakh sq. ft., and will rise 12 floors high. It will feature:

2,000 beds, 29 major and 12 minor operation theatres, Robotic surgery units and transplant theatres, Two basement levels for parking, Waste treatment systems

A rooftop helipad for emergency airlift services

Beyond clinical care, the facility will also serve as a centre for medical education, housing colleges for nursing, dental, and physiotherapy.

With a planned completion timeline of two years, MEIL aims to create a state-of-the-art, technology-driven healthcare hub that rivals leading private institutions in quality, capacity, and infrastructure—ushering in a new era for public healthcare in Telangana.
