Global Health (Medanta Group) plans to add nearly 2,700 hospital beds through greenfield expansion projects over the next five years, according to CEO Pankaj Sahni.
The expansion roadmap includes two new hospitals in Delhi and one each in Mumbai, Guwahati, and Varanasi. Global Health has committed a capital expenditure of approximately ₹4,500 crore for the expansion, which will be funded through internal accruals, balance sheet resources, and limited project-specific debt.
Speaking about the company’s regional growth strategy, Pankaj Sahni said that Medanta’s established hospitals in Lucknow, Patna, Gurugram, Indore, Noida, and Ranchi have demonstrated the sustainability of premium tertiary healthcare services beyond Tier-1 metropolitan cities.
The company noted that returns generated from its flagship Gurugram facility have consistently supported the development of newer hospitals. Going forward, Global Health aims to combine disciplined capital allocation with large-scale expansion to address healthcare infrastructure gaps across regional India.
