Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand has instructed the AP Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) and district officials to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing power sector projects. Priority areas include rooftop solar installations, feeder-level solarisation, the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), smart metering, and the development of EV charging infrastructure.
During a review meeting with district officials, he stressed the need to promptly finalise land acquisition for solar projects, expedite the execution of power purchase agreements (PPAs), and enhance system reliability along with consumer service standards. Feeder-level solarisation projects, with a capacity exceeding 190 MW and covering around 76,000 agricultural pump sets, have been tendered at a competitive tariff of ₹3.09 per unit.
He also directed contractors to complete all loss-reduction works under the RDSS by March 2026. With regard to the PM E-Drive Scheme, which aims to establish EV charging infrastructure at over 90 locations, officials were instructed to accelerate implementation and ensure swift progress.
