Asian Energy to Modernize Ukai Power Station in ₹187.62-Cr Deal

Asian Energy Services has secured an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract worth ₹187.62 crore (including GST) from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (GSECL).

The contract involves upgrading the coal handling plant at the Ukai Thermal Power Station in Gujarat through capacity augmentation of the Stage-II coal handling system. The project will be executed on a lump-sum EPC basis and covers end-to-end engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. The execution period is estimated at two to three years.

The modernization project is expected to enhance coal handling efficiency and improve the operational reliability of the power station. According to the company, the order strengthens its presence in the mineral infrastructure segment, bolsters its order book, and provides improved revenue visibility over the medium term.

Asian Energy Services has traditionally executed coal handling and turnkey infrastructure projects for subsidiaries of Coal India, encompassing design, engineering, construction, and maintenance services. Notably, this is the company's first major contract outside the Coal India ecosystem, representing an important step in diversifying its customer base and expanding into state utility-led infrastructure projects.
