Eveready Industries, a leading name in the dry cell battery segment, is set to become the only domestic manufacturer of alkaline batteries in India with the commissioning of its upcoming greenfield facility in Jammu. The company expects to commence commercial operations by the end of the current fiscal year.
“We will continue to strengthen our long-term competitive edge with the upcoming greenfield alkaline battery facility in Jammu—India’s first of its kind,” said Suvamoy Saha, Managing Director of Eveready Industries, in the company’s FY 2024–25 annual report. “On track for completion by the end of FY25–26, this plant will position us as the only domestic manufacturer in this fast-growing segment.”
This strategic expansion is expected to reinforce Eveready’s market leadership and enable the company to tap into the rising demand for alkaline batteries across India.
