IndiGrid Connects India: 8,742 ckm and Growing!

As of June 30, 2025, IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust (IndiGrid) has expanded its operational power transmission portfolio to 8,742 circuit kilometers (ckm) of transmission lines and 20,050 MVA of transformation capacity, spanning 18 states and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The portfolio comprises 18 operational projects, primarily developed under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB), including 16 interstate and one intrastate project in Haryana. It also includes a captive-use transmission line in Madhya Pradesh and six regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) projects operated through TBCB subsidiaries.

In Q1/FY26, IndiGrid further expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Koppal Narendra Transmission Ltd. (KNTL) from ReNew Transmission Ventures for an enterprise value of approximately ₹2,108 crore. Commissioned in November 2023, KNTL is an interstate transmission project in Karnataka, comprising 276 ckm of transmission lines and 2,500 MVA of substation capacity.

IndiGrid is also advancing four greenfield ISTS-TBCB projects under construction in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, collectively adding 504 ckm and 5,000 MVA upon completion.

Additionally, the trust is building a presence in the battery energy storage systems (BESS) sector, with two projects secured through competitive bidding:

180 MW/360 MWh system in Gujarat, 250 MW/500 MWh facility in Rajasthan

These developments underscore IndiGrid’s commitment to strengthening India’s power infrastructure while expanding into energy storage and future-ready grid technologies.
