Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its Heavy Engineering division has dispatched the seventh 700 MWe steam generator to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), supporting the country’s nuclear energy expansion programme.
The equipment was manufactured at L&T’s facilities at the AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira and Vadodara, Gujarat. Steam generators are critical components in pressurised heavy water reactors, converting heat into steam to drive turbines for power generation.
The company noted that the unit was dispatched ahead of schedule, reflecting its focus on timely execution and contribution to India’s energy security goals. The early delivery also aligns with the broader push to strengthen domestic manufacturing under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
L&T’s Heavy Engineering division continues to supply advanced equipment across sectors including nuclear, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, and refineries, reinforcing its role in India’s infrastructure and energy ecosystem.
