Tata Power & BPCL Join Forces in ₹250 Cr Power Deal

Tata Power Company Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to supply reliable power infrastructure for BPCL’s Petro Resid Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (PRFCCU) project in Mumbai.

Under the MoU, Tata Power will design, develop, and establish a 110 kV connectivity system tailored to meet the unit's estimated 90 MW power demand. Representing an investment of roughly ₹250 crore, the power infrastructure is scheduled for completion within 24 months, subject to regulatory approvals. The 3 MMTPA PRFCCU project marks the largest capital project currently underway at BPCL's Mumbai refinery and the company's second-largest active development overall.
