UJVN Tenders Rs 352.30 Crore BESS Project in Pauri Garhwal

Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam (UJVN) has floated a tender for the development of a 90 MW/225 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Uttarakhand.

The project will be connected to the 132 kV grid through the Chilla Substation in Pauri Garhwal and is aimed at improving grid stability, strengthening power reliability and supporting greater integration of renewable energy. The storage system will also provide flexibility in meeting peak power requirements and managing fluctuations in renewable generation.

The project carries an estimated cost of Rs 352.30 crore and is expected to be completed within 18 months. The tender is open to eligible technology providers and contractors, with bids to be submitted by 25 August 2026.
