The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has submitted Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for four additional Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors: Delhi–Karnal, Delhi–Bawal, Bawal–Behror, and Ghaziabad–Noida International Airport. This update was officially communicated in the Rajya Sabha by Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu.
Presently, the sole functional corridor in the network is the 82.15-km Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut RRTS (16 stations), sanctioned in March 2019. Under the Functional Plan on Transport for NCR-2032 formulated by the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), eight total corridors have been planned to establish high-speed, rail-based commuter links across the region.
