MP's Industrial Highway: The Gujarat–Bengal Freight Corridor

Ashwini Vaishnaw recently stated that the proposed Dedicated Freight Corridor linking West Bengal and Gujarat will create a strong base for large-scale industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking at a virtual event, the Railway Minister highlighted that the corridor will boost logistics efficiency and strengthen freight connectivity for industries across Madhya Pradesh, ensuring quicker transportation of goods to ports and major markets.

Vaishnaw made the remarks while virtually flagging off two new train services — the Bhopal–Dhanbad–Bhopal tri-weekly express and the Bhopal–Chopan–Bhopal weekly express — aimed at enhancing passenger connectivity from the state capital, Bhopal.

The trains were flagged off from Rail Bhawan in New Delhi, with Mohan Yadav joining the ceremony from the Bhopal railway station.

According to officials, the new services are expected to improve regional connectivity and offer greater travel convenience to passengers across Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states.
