Southern Railway has issued a tender for the construction of a new broad-gauge (BG) railway line between Tindivanam and Arani in Tamil Nadu.
The project comprises two major sections:
Reach I: From chainage 3.000 km to 54.500 km, covering the stretch between Tindivanam (excluding) and Cheyyar stations.
Reach II: From chainage 54.500 km to 82.000 km, extending from Cheyyar to Arani (excluding).
The scope of work includes civil engineering, utility shifting, and 2x25 kV overhead electrification (OHE) for the new railway line. The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, with a contract value of ₹856.18 crore and a completion period of 24 months.
The deadline for bid submission is 16 December 2025.
