The Odisha government plans to leverage the newly launched Urban Invest Window (UiWIN) to accelerate affordable housing and rental projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.
Launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in November, UiWIN is designed to enhance urban infrastructure financing and streamline project execution across states and Union Territories. Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Department has directed municipal commissioners to familiarize themselves with UiWIN’s features to ensure timely completion of urban development projects.
Subhananda Mohapatra, Mission Director of the Odisha Urban Housing Mission, noted that the state will focus on cities such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip, where demand for affordable homes is rising. “Hudco’s technology will enable us to plan and execute projects efficiently,” said an urban development official. The initiative is expected to attract investment and significantly accelerate housing development in Odisha.
