Mumbai-Goa Highway: On Track for a March 2026 Finish

In a major boost to Maharashtra’s infrastructure, the Mumbai–Goa Highway upgrade is in its final stages and is expected to be fully operational by March 2026.

The 466-km four-lane highway, stretching from Panvel to Sindhudurg, passes through Raigad and Ratnagiri districts, and is set to revolutionise connectivity between Mumbai and Goa. Once completed, it will cut travel time from the current 12–13 hours to just six hours, benefiting commuters, tourists, and businesses across the Konkan region.

The highway will feature a next-generation tolling system with satellite tracking and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), allowing for seamless toll deductions without vehicle stoppage. In addition to saving time and fuel, the project is expected to boost tourism, stimulate local economies, and enhance trade and logistics.

With its modern infrastructure and enhanced efficiency, the upgraded Mumbai–Goa Highway represents a significant milestone in regional development and smart mobility.
