SPR’s New Heart: The Trumpet Flyover at Vatika Chowk

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has finalised a revised design for the Vatika Chowk cloverleaf to connect both ends of the elevated Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) at the Sohna Highway.

The new design focuses on ensuring smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement from all directions through a multi-level trumpet flyover configuration. GMDA has directed the project consultant to present a virtual simulation illustrating real-time vehicular movement, after which the design will receive final approval. Notably, the revised plan eliminates the need for the 2.15 acres of land that was required under earlier designs.

The project also предусматри (will include) elevated road stretches from Ghata to Vatika Chowk and from Vatika Chowk to NH-48, significantly improving connectivity to the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi–Jaipur highway. GMDA CEO P. C. Meena stated that the updated design will enable seamless vehicle movement between key corridors such as Faridabad Road, Golf Course Road, and the Sohna Highway without detours.
