JSW Energy to Fire Up Local Wind Blade Production with Two New Plants

JSW Energy is set to commission two new wind blade manufacturing facilities in 2025, reinforcing its strategy to enhance domestic production and reduce reliance on imports.

The initiative aims to meet the company’s internal needs while “de-risking and optimising costs,” in line with a broader industry shift toward localisation in renewable energy infrastructure. Although India already manufactures complete wind turbine systems—such as generators and towers—using domestically sourced steel, certain components, especially wind blades, continue to be imported due to limited local manufacturing capacity.

These new plants will address that gap, fortify the supply chain, and support the growth of India's wind energy sector. This move underscores JSW Energy’s commitment to advancing renewable energy self-sufficiency and aligns with India’s broader mission of strengthening indigenous manufacturing in the clean energy space.
