Serentica Renewables has entered into a landmark agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop a 100 MW clean energy project under India’s first-ever 'load following' power purchase agreement (PPA).
Unlike traditional PPAs, this innovative model aligns power supply with real-time and seasonal demand patterns, enhancing reliability and grid efficiency. Developed in collaboration with SECI and state DISCOMs, the agreement enables delivery of renewable energy based on hourly and sub-hourly requirements, making it more responsive to consumption needs.
This initiative marks a pivotal shift in India’s renewable energy landscape, setting a new standard for demand-responsive clean power solutions and potentially transforming future contracting models to support both decarbonization and grid stability.
