Serentica Renewables, backed by private equity major KKR, plans to invest up to USD 11 billion by 2030 to significantly expand its clean-energy portfolio. The company aims to scale its renewable capacity from the current 2 GW to 17 GW by the end of the decade.
To support this growth, Serentica intends to raise USD 6–8 billion over the next five years to fund acquisitions of operating assets as well as new project developments. The firm is targeting value-driven opportunities, with as much as 5 GW of renewable energy assets presently available for sale in India. Its expansion strategy includes both acquiring existing projects and building new ones.
“The acquisitions that Serentica Renewables will pursue are purely opportunistic and value-based,” said Chairman Pratik Agarwal.
