Sunsure Powers Up Uttar Pradesh with 82.5 MW Solar Plant

Sunsure Energy has successfully commissioned an 82.5 MW group captive solar project in Erach, Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh) to supply clean energy to leading clients including Haldiram’s, APL Apollo, and a major data centre operator.

The project is expected to generate 128 million units annually and represents Sunsure’s 10th open access solar installation in the state. With this addition, the company now operates 260 MW of open access solar capacity in Uttar Pradesh, with projects spread across Agra, Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot.

Sunsure continues to benefit from investor-friendly state policies, including banking provisions and waivers on electricity duty, transmission, and wheeling charges, which have significantly supported the growth of large-scale solar and storage infrastructure in the region.

Nationally, Sunsure manages 600 MW of operational assets and is developing an additional 7.5 GW across multiple states, with a target of reaching 10 GW by 2030. Recently, the company:

Won NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam’s auction for a 250 MW battery energy storage system (BESS)

Secured ₹416 crore in financing for a 150 MW solar park in Solapur, Maharashtra, slated for completion by March 2025

This latest commissioning reinforces Sunsure’s position as a key player in India’s transition to clean, distributed, and industrial-scale renewable energy solutions.
