Suzlon has secured a 204.75 MW wind energy order from Jindal Green Wind 1, a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables, marking its largest commercial and industrial (C&I) partnership to date. This brings the total wind energy capacity supporting Jindal Steel’s plants to 907.20 MW.
The latest order includes 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each boasting a 3.15 MW capacity. The power generated will supply steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, reinforcing their sustainability initiatives. With this addition, Suzlon’s total order book reaches a record 5.9 GW.
Vice Chairman Girish Tanti commented, "Building on our initial success in Karnataka, we are now expanding the Low CO₂ Steel movement to Tamil Nadu, a leader in wind energy. Together, we are shaping the future of sustainable industrial growth in India."
