Tata Power has reported a five-fold year-on-year surge in rooftop solar installations, driven primarily by the government’s PM Surya Ghar scheme and the company’s expanding nationwide partner network.
The company is currently installing around 25,000 rooftop solar systems every month, a significant jump from an average of about 5,000 installations per month during the same period last year. Installation volumes have also risen steadily over the past two years, up from roughly 2,000 rooftops per month earlier, according to company officials.
Speaking to businessline, Kaushik Sanyal, National Head – Group Captive & Enterprise Accounts at Tata Power, said the sharp growth reflects both policy support and execution strength. He attributed the increase to the PM Surya Ghar scheme, Tata Power’s operational capabilities, and its rapidly expanding channel partner ecosystem.
To support its rooftop solar business, Tata Power has appointed channel partners and distributors across the country and currently works with around 650 partners pan-India, enabling faster installations and wider market reach.
