UPSIDA Forges "Solar Industrial Zones" Across UP

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has initiated a significant green energy project to install solar power plants across 13 industrial areas, in line with the state’s Solar Energy Policy-2022. The initiative aims to reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions, and support environmental sustainability.

“This initiative aligns with the state's Solar Energy Policy-2022, which aims to reduce energy costs, promote environmental conservation, and cut carbon emissions,” a UPSIDA spokesperson stated on Saturday.

The targeted zones include Surajpur Site-5, EPIP (Gautam Budh Nagar), TDS City (Ghaziabad), SEZ (Moradabad), and major industrial hubs in Baghpat, Agra, Mathura, Jhansi, Prayagraj, and Shahjahanpur.

A UPSIDA official highlighted that the vision is for industrial areas to become not only centers of production but also exemplars of sustainability and clean energy use. Through the development of these “Solar Industrial Zones,” UPSIDA seeks to position these regions as models of eco-friendly industrial growth, enhancing both sustainability and energy self-reliance across the state.
