Taj Hotel to Rise in Ranchi: A Rs 400 Crore Venture

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has partnered with the Jharkhand government to establish a Taj hotel in Ranchi, involving a significant investment of Rs 400 crore. This new hotel will occupy a six-acre plot in Dhurwa, Ranchi, and is expected to create approximately 1,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly.

The 200-room greenfield facility will be IHCL's sixth project in Jharkhand, joining its portfolio of a Vivanta-branded property and four Ginger hotels. Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted that the addition of a luxury brand like Taj will enhance the state's capacity to host international sports events, offering superior accommodation options and promoting tourism.

The strategic location of the upcoming IHCL Ranchi hotel, coupled with the city's ongoing transformation into a smart city, positions it as a promising destination. This development aligns with IHCL's strategy to expand its presence in regions poised for industrial, commercial, and cultural growth.

The new Taj hotel is set to significantly contribute to Ranchi's evolving identity, enhancing its global appeal and supporting its development as a major hub. This venture is expected to boost local tourism and provide Jharkhand with a more prominent place on the global map.
