MIHAN’s Flight Path: Investment, Industry, and Impact

The Multi-Modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) project has become a significant driver of employment and investment in Maharashtra, according to Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar during a recent session of the Legislative Council.

The minister stated that the project has generated employment for 1,27,225 people so far. Currently, 120 companies have invested in MIHAN, covering both Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and non-SEZ areas, with 90 companies already operational.

He also emphasized that the State government has taken several steps to support people affected by the project while remaining within the legal framework. These measures include land allocation, compensation and enhanced compensation, housing construction support, residential plots, and financial assistance for building homes, ensuring that local communities benefit alongside the region’s industrial development.
