Panasonic Avionics has launched a state-of-the-art software design and development facility in Pune, Maharashtra, marking a significant milestone in India's aviation technology sector. Inaugurated by the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, this is the country's first facility dedicated to advancing in-flight engagement and connectivity (IFEC) solutions.
The Pune facility is a hub for over 200 skilled engineers, with plans to expand further to support airlines globally. Panasonic Avionics aims to enhance its workforce by partnering with Indian universities, particularly in Maharashtra, to nurture and develop engineering talent, ensuring sustained growth and innovation at the new center.
Central to Panasonic Avionics' vision, this facility focuses on enabling airlines to achieve their passenger digital engagement objectives. Engineers at the Pune center will develop, test, and maintain a variety of software tools and digital solutions, including the renowned X Series in-flight entertainment system, designed to enhance passenger experiences on both narrow and widebody aircraft.
The strategic initiative underscores Panasonic Avionics' commitment to innovation, with over 300 airlines worldwide already benefiting from its in-flight engagement, satellite Wi-Fi connectivity, and digital services. The new Pune facility represents a significant leap forward in delivering next-generation IFEC solutions.
