Tender Issued: Sugia Coal Mine Reopens in Ramgarh, Jharkhand

The Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) has issued a tender for the selection of a Mine Developer-cum-Operator (MDO) for the Sugia Closed Coal Mine in Ramgarh, Jharkhand.

The coal mine, previously non-operational, is being reopened under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The selected MDO will oversee mining operations, development, and management of the coal assets. This initiative aims to revitalise coal production in the region, meet growing energy demands, and represents a significant step toward sustainable resource development in Jharkhand.

The bid submission deadline is 24 November 2025.
