Juno Joule Green Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with German energy firm Select Energy GmbH at the World Hydrogen Summit 2025, marking a major step forward for India’s green hydrogen sector.
Under the agreement, Select Energy will serve as both co-developer and anchor offtaker for Juno Joule’s flagship green hydrogen and ammonia project at Mulapeta Port, Andhra Pradesh. Set to become one of India’s largest integrated green hydrogen facilities, the project targets production of 180 KTPA (thousand tonnes per annum) of green hydrogen by 2031, with key export markets including Europe, Japan, South Korea, and India.
Backed by global technology leaders such as Thyssenkrupp Nucera and KBR, the facility will comply with stringent EU certification standards including RED II, RED III, and RFNBO—positioning it as a dependable supplier to international markets.
The partnership encompasses equity investment, development of pipeline-linked export infrastructure, and long-term offtake agreements. Select Energy brings deep expertise in hydrogen logistics, trading, and regulatory compliance.
Aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, the project is expected to create approximately 6,000 jobs and prevent 1.8 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. The facility will rely entirely on locally sourced renewable energy through power purchase agreements (PPAs), ensuring compliance with EU traceability and timing regulations.
