Oil India & RVUNL Team Up to Deliver 1.2 GW of Clean Energy

Oil India Ltd (OIL) has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) to develop 1.2 GW of renewable energy capacity in Rajasthan, marking a significant step in OIL’s green energy transition.

Project Overview: The joint venture will establish renewable energy assets within RVUNL’s Renewable Energy Park, comprising:

1,000 MW of solar power, 200 MW of wind power

This collaboration will leverage OIL’s technical expertise in the energy sector and RVUNL’s experience in power project development, aiming to deliver sustainable, grid-connected clean energy to Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) and commercial consumers.

Strategic Focus: The JV will explore opportunities across:

Solar and wind power, Green hydrogen, Other emerging renewable technologies

The agreement was formalized by Devendra Shringi, CMD of RVUNL, and Ranjan Goswami, Executive Director of OIL, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

Broader Context:

The announcement follows OIL’s recent MoU with Hindustan Copper for the exploration of critical minerals, reflecting the company’s growing focus on renewable energy and strategic minerals through its dedicated arm, OIL Green Energy Ltd (OGEL).

This initiative aligns with India’s clean energy goals and supports the nation’s ambition to transition towards a more sustainable and energy-secure future.
