Gensol-Matrix Wins India’s First Green Hydrogen Project

Gensol Engineering, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables, has emerged as the lowest bidder for India’s first biomass-to-green hydrogen project. The Rs 164 crore project will develop a 25 TPD bio-waste processing facility, converting bio-waste into one tonne per day (TPD) of green hydrogen.

The project will leverage advanced technology from Westinghouse, USA, which specializes in plasma-induced radiant energy-based gasification systems. This cutting-edge tech will drive the biomass-to-hydrogen conversion, representing a new frontier in the plasma waste-to-energy industry.

This initiative aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and addresses critical environmental challenges by reducing bio-waste and generating clean energy. It is a significant step forward in the country’s clean energy transition.

The Gensol-Matrix consortium aims to establish a holistic green hydrogen ecosystem, integrating green hydrogen into sectors like green steel and green ammonia. Their collaboration marks a strategic move towards a sustainable hydrogen economy.

As India ventures into this pioneering project, the Gensol-Matrix partnership is set to play a key role in promoting green hydrogen and expanding its application across various industries.
