Juniper Green Scores Big with 480 MW Hybrid Power Deals

In a significant move towards sustainable energy, Juniper Green Energy has secured two power purchase agreements (PPAs) for a total of 480 MW in hybrid renewable energy projects. These agreements were won under NTPC’s tranche-I hybrid tender and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) phase-I hybrid tender, marking a substantial step in India's clean energy landscape.

The NTPC project, Juniper Green’s largest hybrid initiative to date, will feature 290 MW of hybrid capacity, comprising 210 MW of solar and 80 MW of wind energy. This ambitious project, spread across Gujarat and Rajasthan, is expected to generate 633 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, cut carbon emissions by 590,810 tonnes, and power approximately 126,165 households.

Additionally, the PPA with GUVNL will see the establishment of 190 MW of hybrid capacity, including 140 MW of solar and 50 MW of wind power. This project is projected to produce 412 MUs of electricity per year, reducing CO2 emissions by 384,067 tonnes and supplying clean energy to 82,016 households.

These agreements were finalized in June 2024, highlighting Juniper Green Energy's ongoing commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions in India. The projects not only bolster the country's renewable capacity but also contribute significantly to reducing carbon footprints and providing sustainable power to a large number of households.

Juniper Green Energy's efforts in securing these PPAs underscore their dedication to environmental sustainability and their role in supporting India's transition to clean energy.
