Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, has launched its first manufacturing operation in India in partnership with EPACK Manufacturing Technologies (EMTPL), a subsidiary of EPACK Durable.
Located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the facility represents a major milestone in Hisense’s expansion strategy in India and aligns with the Government’s “Make in India” initiative. Developed with significant investment, the state-of-the-art plant will initially manufacture room air conditioners (RACs) exclusively for the Indian market, with production scheduled to begin in 2026. In Phase 1, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 0.75 million units, producing Hisense’s flagship AC models, including the F-Series, Eco Series, and the upcoming Intelli Pro Series.
Phase 2 will broaden the plant’s capabilities to include washing machines, particularly front-load models, while Phase 3—planned for FY27—will introduce LED TV manufacturing. The facility currently employs around 500 people and is expected to generate up to 1,500 employment opportunities in the coming months, catering to both domestic and export markets.
