The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has decided to revise the detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed Metro extension from Palam Vihar to Dwarka Sector 21, according to officials.
Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has been appointed to update the DPR, including revisions to project costs, financial assessments, and economic evaluations. The review has been necessitated by changes in project parameters, such as the adoption of different rolling stock for the Gurugram Metro and revised plans for its integration with the Rapid Metro at Cyber City.
The updated DPR will also factor in the proposed parallel Metro corridor planned by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) between Yashobhoomi and Iffco Chowk, which could influence ridership projections and route finalisation. The proposed elevated Metro corridor will span 8.4 km and is planned to connect Palam Vihar with Dwarka Sector 21, with multiple stations proposed along the route.
