Anchoring Growth: TN Greenlights ₹4,282 Cr Shipbuilding Hub

The Tamil Nadu government has cleared investments amounting to ₹4,282 crore for the development of a dedicated shipbuilding cluster in the state.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening marine engineering capabilities and expanding shipbuilding infrastructure. The proposed cluster will support fabrication, assembly, and allied maritime industries, boosting coastal industrial activity and creating new economic opportunities.

The project will be implemented in phases with participation from both public and private sector players. The move aligns with broader national efforts to scale up India’s shipbuilding capacity and enhance its competitiveness in the global maritime industry.
