US-based semiconductor giant Applied Materials has signed an MoU with the Karnataka government to invest Rs 3,600 crore over the next decade. Facilitated by Industries Minister M.B. Patil, the 10-year investment will focus on manufacturing essential semiconductor equipment and scaling up R&D operations. This milestone is set to profoundly boost Karnataka's high-tech ecosystem and reinforce India's self-reliance in semiconductor manufacturing.
