ONGC’s Cluster-7 Crude Offloading Hits Century

ONGC has marked a major milestone in its offshore operations with the completion of the 100th crude offloading from the Cluster-7 field, nearly 11 years after production and evacuation began through a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Located around 210 km west of Mumbai, Cluster-7 relies on FPSO-based evacuation due to the challenges of establishing conventional pipeline infrastructure at such a remote offshore location. Since the first crude sale in March 2015, the field has supplied around 5.3 million tonne (MMT) of crude to refineries across India.

The milestone highlights the sustained performance of ONGC’s offshore production, storage, logistics and crude evacuation infrastructure, while demonstrating the role of FPSO technology in unlocking production from technically challenging offshore fields.
