Siddhivinayak Station Launches on Mumbai's Much-Awaited Aqua Line

Mumbai Metro’s much-anticipated Aqua Line has reached a pivotal moment with the launch of the Siddhivinayak Metro Station — one of ten stations under Phase 1 of the city’s first fully underground metro corridor.

Designed to ease road congestion and offer faster, more efficient travel across Mumbai, the Aqua Line’s Phase 1 stretches from Aarey Colony (JVLR) to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). It connects vital urban hubs including SEEPZ, Andheri, Marol Naka, Sahar Road, both terminals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (T1 & T2), Santacruz, and Bandra Colony.

Phase 2, currently under development, will extend the corridor from BKC to Cuffe Parade. This segment will further enhance connectivity with stations at Siddhivinayak Temple, Dadar, Dharavi, Shitaladevi Temple, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk. Once fully operational, the Aqua Line will play a crucial role in strengthening north-south transit across Mumbai, offering a high-capacity, modern alternative to the city’s overburdened roadways.
