The nine-kilometre stretch of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway between the DND Flyway and Meethapur is expected to become operational by June 2026, according to BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.
Speaking in Parliament, Bidhuri said construction on the DND Junction–Jaitpur segment is nearing completion, with 94.2 per cent of the work already finished. He noted that progress was earlier delayed due to slow construction of a bridge over the Agra Canal. Once completed, the stretch will significantly improve connectivity and traffic flow in south Delhi.
The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹1 lakh crore, is one of India’s largest infrastructure projects. It aims to sharply reduce travel time between Delhi and Mumbai while easing congestion within major urban centres.
Several sections of the expressway are already operational, including the 24-km Meethapur–Sector 65 and the 26-km Sector 65–Sohna stretches. The Sohna–Dausa segment was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2023. Bidhuri said these operational sections have already provided major relief to thousands of motorists commuting between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Palwal.
He added that new entry and exit points at Meethapur Chowk will benefit residents of south Delhi and further help reduce traffic congestion.
