IGL & RVUNL: A Solar Partnership to Power Rajasthan

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced the formation of a joint venture (JV) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) to develop a solar power project in Rajasthan, marking a significant step in IGL’s foray into the renewable energy sector.

The JV will have an equity structure of 74:26, with IGL holding the majority stake. The board of directors will include six members—four nominated by IGL and two by RVUNL—in line with the ownership distribution. The new entity will be established with an initial paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh, divided into 50,000 equity shares of ₹10 each.

This move follows IGL’s board approval in March 2025 and underscores the company’s strategy to diversify beyond its core operations of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in the Delhi-NCR region, aligning with India's broader push toward clean energy transition.
