The government has designated nine companies, including Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals, ACME Cleantech Solutions, and Greenko Zero, to receive incentives for establishing plants dedicated to the production of green hydrogen.
On January 9th, SECI released a statement announcing Reliance Green as the successful bidder, eligible for incentives to produce 90,000 tonnes of green hydrogen. Similarly, ACME Cleantech Solutions and Greenko ZeroC have secured incentives for the production of 90,000 tonnes. Torrent Power has been granted incentives for an 18,000-tonne capacity, HHP Two for 75,000 tonnes, and Welspun New Energy for 20,000 tonnes of green hydrogen.
Additionally, UPL will receive incentives for 10,000 tonnes, and JSW Neo Energy has been selected to receive government support for the production of 6,500 tonnes of green energy. In total, these nine firms have acquired incentives to establish facilities capable of producing 410,000 tonnes of green hydrogen under Bucket-1 (Technology Agnostic Pathways).
Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) invited bids in July 2023 for the selection of green hydrogen producers to establish production facilities under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme (Mode-1-Tranche-I). Out of 12 qualified bids, nine companies were selected to receive incentives for setting up production facilities, exceeding the offered capacity of 450,000 tonnes with a total capacity of 549,500 tonnes.
